Theatre inspection, verification and validation BMI Healthcare.
VtV Solutions specialises in the annual inspection, verification and validation of operating theatres with ultra clean ventilation systems and conventional operating theatres. BMI Healthcare recognised the advantage in VtV Solutions capability to provide these services and awarded a three year contract to validate all the theatres within the group. With over 60 hospitals incorporating 141 operating theatres, BMI Healthcare is the UK’s largest private healthcare group.
Where possible any theatre or ultra clean ventilation system that fails to meet the minimum requirements of HTM 03-01 or its predecessor HTM 2025 is upgraded for full compliance.
The annual inspection, verification and validation include:
- Air volumes are measured to calculate the air change rates
- Pressure regimes are measured
- Microbiological air sampling is performed
- Theatre schematics are produced.
- AHU and ancillary equipment inspection
And for the theatres with ultra clean ventilation systems the following additional test are performed:
- HEPA filter integrity test
- Velocity profiles at the two metre and one-metre levels
- Particulate entrainment test
